I find it a compelling irony to use modern tools such as digital manipulation to
return to the styles of Pin-Up in the American 1940’s – 1960’s, when artists did their best to make their
paintings and illustrations realistic.
It is an interesting challenge to “work backwards” in reproducing the style of Pin-Up; that is, to start with
photos of models and through digital manipulation make them more painterly.
